Gibraltar Island North Side

Then and Now

October 7, 2004

I was at Put-in-Bay on both Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 showing a friend around on the last two days that my boat was in the water. We were bicycling around and happened to run into Vicky Wigle. She runs Kayak the Bay at Put-in-Bay, which rents kayaks, and my friend was an avid kayaker So Vicky, whom I have known for awhile, offered to let us take out a kayak.

The weather was beautiful and I used to kayak fairly regularly. We had a great time and I finally got to take a few close-up pictures of the beautiful rocks on the north side of Gibraltar. You can actually kayak behind them at 3 or 4 spots.

The first 4 pictures are from October 7. The 4 postcards are all from roughly 1905-1915.
