Seiche Conditions Just Before Sunset

The strong east wind of last
night became a strong west wind early today with the effect that the water
dropped 3-4 feet overnight.

The Beach is Back at Schoolhouse Bay. Note the new riprap put in a few weeks ago.

Based on the stairs that are usually under water, it looks as if the water is down over 3 feet.

|
If your boat wasn't on a floating dock, you had a problem
|
|
|
The reef at Sugar Island is above water.
|
|
|
But life in the marsh goes on as usual.
|
|
|
|
The storm's moving to the east, but the sky in the west just cleared up before sunset, so the colors are beautiful and very unusual.
|
|
|
